The compact PowerMTS 251Si is one of the fourth generation of digitally controlled multi-process inverter welders from Everlast. Taking our customer's feedback into consideration from previous models, the all new PowerMTS 251SI is designed to be as versatile as ever with not only standard DC MIG, TIG and Stick welding capability but also with Synergic MIG, Pulse MIG, and Pulse TIG welding modes. This new welder is a leader in the compact multi-process welder class as both pulse MIG and pulse TIG features are not available from any other manufacturer. Additionally, the PowerMTS 251Si offers one more distinctive feature: it allows to the operator to choose from a touchless, high frequency start or a lift start in TIG mode. The stick mode offers more adjustability than ever with the addition of hot start intensity and hot start duration controls. If you are worried that these features may complicate the operation of the welder, then don't. The unit was designed with ease of operation in mind. There are no complicated menus to navigate, no touch screens to press and no complicated hidden features which are difficult to access. All controls, including burn back are now located on the panel face right where you can get to them and are grouped according to function, with an easy to understand format. All connections are right on the front of the panel. This includes the connection for the TIG torch which includes the gas connection with a gas solenoid control over pre and post flow. Compare that to the competition where you have to make the TIG connection through the side panels or through special non-standard connections with only a manually operated gas valve on the torch for scratch start or lift start, and you can see how far ahead the PowerMTS 251Si really is. Well, it makes sense when you consider Everlast was one of the first to offer a compact fully featured inverter MTS unit in the North American market.
Best purchase I have ever made

Best purchase I have ever made. Just keep in mind that you will need some sort of adapter to use 4″ wire spools. Same for the 8″ spools.
Great customer service. Great machine.
Initially had a small problem with the machine but Everlast customer service was quick to get it worked out. Looks like it will be a very nice welder. It was packed well and came with everything you need to get started welding. Great value.

Great multi-process welder at a great price

Great multi-process welder at a great price. Works well and appears to be well made. With the many features available on this machine, it takes time to learn all the controls, but there is now a good manual available on-line at the Everlast site.

Very Good Welder So Far

I have been using this welder now for about 6 months. Very good welder so far. I am not a pro welder. I have not tried running it on 115 volt power yet, only 230 volt. I am used to welding mig and fluxcore with a Miller 140. I can only attest to the mig and tig processes. I have not used it for stick yet. I am new to tig but so far I like what I have been able to do, I think the High Frequency start has helped to learn. This is a beast for mig and fluxcore! I have mostly used it for mig with 75/25 gas and .035 Lincoln wire from Homer Depot. Welded beautifully building a new welding table with 3/16″ thick box tubing and a 3/8″ thick top. Been rebuilding some heavy steel tables (1/4″ angle) and it is flawless. I cant wait to test it out on some 1/2″ – 3/4″. Bottom line for me in deciding to buy this over the other brands out there was bang for buck. I got a 250 amp machine (on 230 volt power) that is portable and multi process and came with all of the accessories. I didn’t have to go out and buy the tig torch or a tig peddle. It was all included. There are a lot of bells and whistles included that I haven’t tried yet but I believe will make future projects a success.
Was a good machine but I do alot of off road fabrication …

So far going to give it 5 stars.
Great Machine. A lot of Bang for the Buck

Great Machine. A lot of Bang for the Buck! More features than BLUE and RED at half the cost. Synergic and Pulse Mig modes very smooth. Hooked up two bottles (1) 75/25 and (2) straight Argon with a “Y” fitting with valves so I could easily transition from Mig to Tig just with a quick purge.
Welder could not be better. Poor treatment during shipping. Everlast customer service has been great.

I couldn’t be happier with the welder itself. Stick, tig and mig work great. Welder sustained some shipping damage. Box was nearly destroyed. The handle was broken and one of the channels on the bottom of the welder that the rubber feet are screwed to was crushed and had to be straightened. Everlast replaced the broken handle. I was surprised the welder worked as badly treated in shipping as it was. I just removed the gas hose from another welder, plugged it and much to my surprise it worked perfectly. A week later I hooked up the regulator and hose in preparation to weld a landscaping trailer. I turned on the gas and started welding. When I came back from lunch the new cyl. was empty. I got a another new cyl. and I mixed up some soapy water to use to check for leaks. The regulator had a bad leak where it goes into the cyl. I put the regulator on a third cyl. from another welder in my shop and the leak was still present. I loosed the fitting a little and rocked it back and forth. When I removed the regulator the fitting had high and low places all around mating surface for the cyl. valve. I took pictures of the fitting and sent them to Everlast. Customer support could not have been better. They sent me a new regulator. When I got the new regulator I hooked everything up and re-soap tested all connections, Both of the hose connections had small leaks. I just replaced the hose with much better hose and swaged clamps on. I didn’t say anything to Everlast about the hose. It just wasn’t that big of a deal. I wish the gas hose had standard inert gas fittings at both ends. I may silver solder some fittings together to make an adapter. With multiple welders in my shop I have to have everything interchangeable. For a one of welder it doesn’t matter much. I’ve made three landscaping trailers and the welder has just about paid for itself. Pulse is nice, but not all that necessary for what I build. I’m sure I’ll put the pulse to good use at some point. Oh, get rid of the poor ground clamp.
