I bought this helmet after looking at a few. I even considered the Harbor Freight and this one was actually less expensive than the HF and offers a better graphic design. It is a light weight plastic, but that’s not a bad thing. Out of the box, it works as intended. The instructions may seem a little confusing at first, and whenever you trust something like this to the possibility of damaging your eyes, it can be scary. But, I can say I’ve used it for hours now over a course of a few days and it has worked very well. The couple things I can say is to turn press the battery check to make sure the batteries are good. The battery check is on the inside of the face area. Do this every time you intend to use it. Also, adjust the sensitivity to the max when you first try for the first time. This way you can ensure the response time is fast on it from the get go. I initially tried a shade of 11, but found it a bit to dark for what I was working on, so I found 10 a good setting and it works well for what I’m doing now and it allows me to see well while I’m working on my current project. I have the delay set to max which allows a one second delay before it comes out of being dark back to normal. That way, if the metal is hot, I won’t get any flash from the metal.
Great helmet, lightweight and fully functional right out of the box
Might not be a thousand dollar helmet but sure works like one. Purchased this for my husband as he’s a stubborn oldschool guy and would just hold a welding glass up to weld or plasma cut, not the safest. I’ve purchased him helmets in the past he said they were to heavy and constantly had to lift them up. I found this auto dark helmet had good reviews and figured I give it another try to keep him safe. He actually wears it he said it’s very lightweight automatic darkening works perfect, also has really good adjustable straps to adjust for him perfectly. He also likes the fact that he can order parts for it when needed, lenses, covers ect. This is a win win in my book. It does feel like an inexpensive plastic but he has not cracked it or burned any holes though it. He uses it several times a month for repairs on most everything, He has used it with mig, tig, stick, and plasma cutter. We are both pleased with this helmet
it works right out of the box (not recommended, need to put the head strap together first)

This helmet works perfectly for me, it works right out of the box (not recommended, need to put the head strap together first). I used it within a day of having it and I was amazing by the quality and sensitivity. It has different shade settings and sensitivity, however no test button so if you want to see if it’s working I’d suggest just striking arc first instead of actually trying to weld that way you are sure it’s working. I love this helmet only problem I have is I’m used to my old helmet and it’s a different brand therefor different size lenses and view window. Still a great product.
Why Pay 300$ When You Have This?
Why spend 200+ when you can get the same quality of hood for significantly less? It looks awesome and preforms like a 300$+ hood. No complaints here.
This is something my husband ordered and said he’s very satisfied
mask works great GREAT PRODUCT for the price
out of all the welding hoods ive looked at or owned this one is by the the best, im no professional by any means, but i like this one the shade # goes low enough for me i know most just go 10-13 i always use around 5-6 because i actually like seeing what im doing…as far a the design of it…its a welding hood it doesnt have to look like a piece of art its made for wrk..but awesome design
Works as it should. My coworkers who don’t weld as much as I, decided to buy another one for the company. No problems have occurred after one week of welding auger.
