ENiCl – 99% Nickel/Cast Iron Welding Electrode – 12″ x 3/32″ (5 STICKS)

ENI-CL 99% NICKEL ELECTRODE AWS A5.15 Welding Positions: All, except vertical down AC & DC± (reverse or straight polarity) INTRODUCTION: Basic graphite-coated stick electrode. Used for welding of cast irons to other cast irons as well as for joining cast irons to mild steels and stainless steels. Cold welding of grey and malleable cast iron. Soft, low spatter arc. A preheat and inter-pass temperature of not less than 350°F is required during welding to prevent cracking. Good slag removal characteristics, low spatter tendency. Graphitic separation of the carbon in the weld metal. Optimum for the repair and maintenance of cast iron APPLICATIONS: Repair and build-up of cast iron parts as auto blocks and heads, cylinder walls, motor exhaust ports, impeller rings, valve sets, cast iron dies, casting; correcting machining errors, joining steels to cast iron, etc. WELDING PARAMETERS: Polarity Welding Position Current (Amps) 3/32" (2.4 mm) 1/8" (3.2 mm) 5/32" (4.0 mm) AC & DC± Flat 70-85 85-110 110-140 Vertical Up & Overhead 65-75 80-90 110-120 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION (%): Chemical Composition C S Mn Requirement ?2.00 ?0.030 ?1.00 Typical test result 1.18 0.007 0.67 Chemical Composition Si Ni Fe Requirement ?2.50 ?90.00 ?8.00 Typical test result 1.38 93.14 3.12 The above parameters are for reference purpose and depend on diverse factors.
