Bought the 2-pound spool and it worked great so I ordered the 10-pound spool. All of my welding is outdoors so the flux cored wire works great. Spatter is minimal and penetration is great. I am using it in a Chicago Electric 170 amp welder (Harbor Freight) and it makes it run like a lot more expensive machine.
Great welding wire
Great welding wire. Very easy to lay down nice beads with. After about 20 minutes with my new machine and this welder, I was laying down professional looking welds. I’ve been welding for years with my lincoln ac tombstone welder and never had welds this clean. Plenty strong too. Used recently to weld an extension on a hand auger. Spun me right around when the machine caught on a root and bent the upper part of the shaft, but the weld held no problem. Done a few projects and wasted some wire because of my newb status to wire feed welders, and it still looks like a brand new spool. This thing’s going to last me forever.
Works great for me
I am using this to weld thin-wall galvanized square tubing for greenhouse benches with a Hobart 120V unit. It is tricky because there are a lot of edges and gaps, plus the gal. coating is variable. I ran out about 1/3 of the way through the job, and did not have time to drive to town to get more so I ordered it online. I was reluctant to buy this wire because of one very negative review. My concerns were increased when I opened the box saw the finish on the wire to be somewhat dull, unlike the very shiny wire I have used for the same task in the past. But this stuff works as well or perhaps slightly better than other brands I have used. I am getting fewer burn-throughs than before, but I am not sure if this is because of this wire or because of the practice I am getting. There are A LOT of joints in these benches! Have not tried it on thicker steel yet, but I know it works on the thin stuff. Bottom line is go for it, you will not be disappointed.
great general purpose.
It’s been years since I’ve used a self shielded wire. The old stuff was like welding with a volcano. This wire is excellent. Nearly as good as a gas shielded flux core wire or solid wire. There will still be spatter and slag to clean up. I still prefer solid wire and gas for thin metal. It’s hard to justify the cost of gas for general welding on 10 gauge or heavier unless you need the ultimate in bead appearance and cleanliness.
Provides Nice, Hot, and Stable Arc. Better than Name Brands!

I use to use Hobart .035 flux core wire for welding. This wire burns a lot hotter and cleaner. My welds are superior when compared to the hobart wire.
I had been using cheap harbor freight wire for so long that I had forgotten how much nicer it is to use the good stuff. Well wor
Wow!!! I had been using cheap harbor freight wire for so long that I had forgotten how much nicer it is to use the good stuff. Well worth the extra money for good wire!
Works good and I weld on a daily basis. Saves money.
This wire works great and it will last you a long time.
I can lay down a pretty good bead
Very good flux core wire. Like it the best of several I have used.
